Rubber coated metal production process
1. Choose wire
The raw material of metal rubber wire is required to have high elasticity, good fatigue performance, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. The two performance parameters of elastic modulus and strength directly affect the mechanical properties of metal rubber. The elastic modulus determines the stiffness of the material. Materials with high strength but low elastic modulus are not suitable for use as structural materials, because the structure made of this material has great residual deformation when the load is applied to the parts.
2, wound spiral coil
The diameter of spiral coil is determined according to the wire diameter, working condition and size of the component.
3, fixed pitch stretching
Constant pitch drawing facilitates braiding blank and pressing.
4, woven blank
The size, porosity and mechanical properties of metal rubber parts are largely related to the weaving process. For components such as vibration isolators, the number of spiral coil roots should be minimized to ensure the tensile strength and damping performance of the whole component.
5. Stamping and forming
The blank must be pressed in the die to achieve the required geometric shape and performance. Stamping is completed by several cycles of pressure to ensure the size and performance stability of metal rubber components.
The way rubber covers metal
1. Real glue
TPE and plastic, metal and other materials, through chemical action, such as molecular level penetration, polar group reaction link, in the interface of the two materials to form a firm welding or bonding, without the aid of any mechanical physical action. Without the aid of adhesives, directly through the injection molding, complete with metal bonding.
2. Fake adhesive
The physical and mechanical bonding between TPE and hard materials (plastic, metal or other materials) is purely through holes, grooves and other clasps, rather than simply by the chemical bonding of the two materials. There is no molecular level penetration directly at the bonding surface of the two materials, and the polar groups react to link and bond. Bond by adhesive.
3. The whole package glue
The whole package adhesive, equivalent to injection molding a TPE/TPR, TPU adhesive, the hardware products in it, there is no chemical significance of bonding. Generally, high hardness TPE/TPR, TPU, hardness above 80A, can be coated, coated hardware should be the whole coated.
4. Local adhesive coating
Local adhesive, hardness is soft, strength is not enough, difficult to adhere to, through the hardware hole processing, can strengthen the physical and mechanical combination of TPE and hardware, so as to improve the adhesive firmness.
Rubber coated metal parts need to pay attention to matters
Rubber coated metal parts, although can improve the processing efficiency, but need to consider two aspects, one is the adhesive fastness, the other is the material property.
1. Adhesive fastness of the bag
Vulcanized rubber is coated with metal, and there is no molecular bonding between rubber and metal at the chemical level, and there is no physical compatibility between two different materials. Usually, a suitable adhesive is coated on the surface of the metal parts to bind the pre-formed rubber parts to the metal parts. And then vulcanize it in a mold. Vulcanized rubber coated metal, due to the use of glue bonding, the metal parts of various surface shapes can be firmly coated.
If the injection method is used to form, there may be two types of rubber materials. One is still the traditional rubber material (need to vulcanize), but a special rubber injection machine is used to directly extrude the rubber into strips, feed it into the rubber injection machine, inject it into the mold, and complete the vulcanization. The other is the use of granular injection rubber material (usually TPETPR or TPUTPV), with conventional injection molding machine.
2. Material properties
Injection molding rubber material (TPE,TPR) is easier to process than vulcanized rubber, but the physical and mechanical properties of the former, such as resilience, wear resistance, tear resistance, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, weather resistance, etc., are not as good as the latter. Evaluation should be made before material replacement. Then determine whether to replace the material, equipment and processing method.
Post-processing requirements for rubber clad metal parts
Post-treatment of rubber clad metal parts mainly depends on the working environment and special use requirements:
1. Cleaning: for elastic damping parts, ultrasonic cleaning should be used;
2. Heat treatment: In order to eliminate the cold working stress in the production process and adjust the hardness and plasticity of the parts, the parts should be heat treated;
3. Protective film: If corrosion resistance is required, it should be coated with protective film.
